Walking – Yellow Vests – Wine ๐Ÿท and way too many stairs at the metro!

We are writing this en route to Toulouse via high speed SNCF train- We planned our departure early enough this morning via metro and it was a good thing – more on that below but first a recap of our day yesterday

Walking – Once more we completed almost a half marathon in walking yesterday (19km & almost 25,000 steps!) –

We dedicated our day to our friend Stephany who had to cancel her trip due to an illness – Stephany we carried you with us yesterday not only in spirit but physically created by Trista a “Stephany stick” – that’s our DIY gal for you ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

On the Vedettes de Paris boat cruise; The Eiffel Tower, Down the Champs D’ Elysรฉes to the Arc de Triomphe

Yellow vests – We we’re glad to have left our yellow vests at home lol after we discovered the reason for the large police (and I mean large!) ๐Ÿš” ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿป presence was due to the weekly yellow vest protests ! We went to sleep hearing those sirens last night

Wine ๐ŸทWhat else is there to do but “boire de vin” while waiting for the rain to clear or to ‘people and police ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿป watch’ – Wine – cheese and bread yum!

We ended our evening on a boat cruise and then returning back on the metro but not before we snapped a lovely photo of the Tour de Eiffel at sundown –

Finally we ended our day at a quaint little restaurant, steps from our Airbnb on Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud – while consuming some wine and sharing a charcuterie board – at 1030 last night

Stairs – Stairs and more stairs

Don’t get us wrong we love being active as evidenced by our two half marathon days. However getting to the metro this morning at 0700 was tricky! We had our suitcases en route to Gare Montparnasse. We knew we would have to take some stairs however after climbing stairs up and down to Oberkamp station line we discovered once seated an announcement that we had to get off as there was a closure due to an accident on one of our metro routes

Plan B – revisit the route and find another line and you guessed it more stairs !

We are now on the very comfy train SNCF high speed (300/km speed) – “affordable AND first class” the only way to travel!

Wine ๐Ÿท cheese ๐Ÿง€ and a baguette ๐Ÿฅ– anyone

  1. Loving your pics & updates; sweet tribute to your friend and hoping she recovers quickly. Also love the pic of the Eiffel Tower. Your comment about the stairs/luggage reminded me of similar experience in Italy which prompted me to travel lightly for future trips. I promise it’s liberating ๐Ÿ˜‰ Look forward to future posts, big hug to Estelle and enjoy every moment – especially the wine & baguettes. XOs

  2. Poor Stephany, how sad to miss this beautiful trip. Looks like you are living the life! Everything youโ€™ve done so far sounds very familiar, hope you have comfortable sneakers! โค๏ธ
